Employment / Work Experience

Oct - Dec - 2017                         Liberte Concept - Art Jam

During my time as an Art Studio Assistant I had multiple responsibilities, one being where I had to deliver an informative introduction about the new concept, giving clear guidance of the process and showing them around the shop. My main role though was to advise mostly beginners to acrylic works on the materials and painting techniques to ensure they achieved the best possible outcome. Another key responsibility was maintaining the daily operations of the studio including reception duties and social media. I would create posts 4 times a day on different topics and issues, Art related such as promoting the shop, photos of customers work and subjects like Art history. I assisted my supervisor on marketing activities and produced content such as posters, flyers and photography to help promote the business. Along with these main points I completed several other tasks including covering the retail and cafe area, handling money, flyering, cleaning and general up keep of the shop.

January 2015 - 2017                   Production Assistant

Richard Herring is a freelance videographer and editor based in London and I often assist him on location shoots around the city.

I find that I am more knowledgeable about filming and postproduction having shadowed him, as I have assisted on very varied shoots from music videos to short films.

I also had the opportunity to be an extra on film in two of the shoots, which was a great opportunity to see the process from a different angle.

May - 2016                              MC CANN Health and Craft

For two weeks I worked as an intern at one of the top ad agencies for health and wellbeing all over the world. I got to work on various small briefs such as working on their own brand and re designing their stationary paper work to match the style of their website. Also I worked with art directors, creatives and designers shadowing them and gaining knowledge of graphics and advertising. How the various tables and people all connect and work together to produce work with clients like GSK. I also shadowed various people in Mc cann’s ‘Craft’ department. Having the opportunity to work with an editors and sound specialists down in the editing suits and sound booths to learn about their method of work and gained more knowledge on adobe programs, saw their current and past jobs and managed to sit in a couple meetings with clients.

July - 2013 – 2014                                 TVMANIA

In the summer of 2013 I joined the team at TVMANIA, a market leader in boys and girls licensed products, for a two-month internship.  During that time I worked with the Design Team where I had the opportunity to contribute to a number of design projects.

Over the course of the internship I gained varied experience and worked on a number of brands. I was also involved with creating theme boards for product ranges and six of my designs for Disney and Warner Brothers were fully approved for retail use.

I developed my skills in Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop and gained knowledge and experience of the licensing industry and how licensing works. I also began to understand how to look at design not only from a creative viewpoint, but from also a commercial point of view.

After my internship I was invited to continue working for the company in a paid capacity, where my role was split between assisting the design team and the administration team.  The additional aspect of the work was to help on a project to reconcile invoices and this additional role helped me to develop my eye for detail, as accuracy was very important.

June - 2013                                               Gensler

During 2013 I spent a week at a highly reputable Architecture Firm in London and whilst I was here, I worked on a school refurbishment project alongside a Landscapist, Architect, Interior designer and Graphic designer. We worked with tools such as Illustrator, Photoshop and In Design.
